Unlike a self storage facility, Offsite does not require you provide proof of insurance or we will charge you for it.  We do offer storage insurance for a fee.  However, if the equipment is leased you are required to maintain your own insurance and provide proof of insurance to the Lessor.  Simply let your agent know where the equipment is stored and your policy should transfer over and you will avoid insurance fees billed by the Lessor.  Warehouse insurance will not fulfill the insurance requirement on your lease agreement.

No, it is not likely putting your leased equipment in storage will violate your lease.  However, you need to notify the lessor of your intent to move your equipment to storage.  Offsite has a template you can use upon request.  

Unless that Dealer is agreeing to assume your lease in writing, its in your best interest not to release your old equipment to them to store.  Your company is obligated to the lease and handing over tens of thousands of sensitive electronics to a copier dealer to put in their warehouse to hold for possibly years is very risky.  You lose control of the equipment you are financially obligated to, parts can be taken and not replaced from the equipment, it can be damaged or lost, or worse if the dealer closes.  Its always best to maintain control of any equipment you are financially obligated to.  Offsite is your resource and we work for you, copier storage is all we do and you can rest assured the equipment will not have parts removed or get lost.  You can request photos, configuration pages, or even the equipment back anytime with Offsite.
